Hawaii Pacific Health Coding Specialist, Certified - Health Information Services in Aiea, Hawaii
With 118 beds and more than 400 physicians on its medical staff, Pali Momi Medical Center offers a full range of services for the communities of Central and West O'ahu. The hospital has delivered many medical firsts for the community, including Central and West O'ahu’s only interventional cardiac catheterization unit to detect and treat heart disease, a fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite, a comprehensive women’s center, CT scan and MRI services, and the state’s first retina center. Pali Momi is the only facility in Hawai'i that uses a team triage approach in its emergency room, where patients are promptly evaluated by an emergency physician.
Health Information Services (HIS) processes patient medical records and releases health information to patients, physicians, and other outside facilities for treatment, payment, or review. HIS is the custodian and gatekeeper for privacy of the organization’s medical records and also generates the coding procedures for data collection, research, and reimbursement. With the widespread computerization of health records and other information sources, including hospital administration functions and health human resources information, health informatics and health information technology are being increasingly used in the health care sector.
If you are a diligent analyst and gifted with numbers, you could be our next Certified Coding Specialist. In this role you will assign diagnosis and procedure codes and abstract information from health records to provide an accurate coded profile for reimbursement and research purposes. We are looking for someone with meticulous analytical ability and attention to data integrity, enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and a commitment to our vision of delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.
