The Nursing Education department helps build the team’s expertise in patient care by expanding our nursing employees’ skills through demonstrations, HLC continuing education courses, nursing specialty training academies and other educational offerings. The department plans, designs, implements and evaluates all education activities for nursing staff with the goal of increasing their job performance and skills.

As the Life Support Instructor, you are responsible for teaching life support courses to health care professionals, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). In this role, you will ensure high-quality training in life-saving techniques.

Location: Location: Positions available at Pali Momi Medical Center (Oahu) and Wilcox Medical Center (Kauai)

Work Schedule: Rotating - 8 Hours

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR certifications. Valid driver’s license and access to an automobile with current Hawai‘i no-fault insurance. Two (2) years of nursing experience in health care or emergency services. One (1) year of instructor experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Certified American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor status. Nursing preceptor experience.

Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.

Starting Hourly Rate: 44.04
