Job Description
Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
The board-certified physicians in the Oncology department evaluate and treat all types of cancer and blood disorders. At Straub Clinic Hilo, patients receive blood transfusions, chemotherapy, nutritional support, antibiotics and other IV therapies. Straub's team are trained to provide education and emotional support to patients and their families. The Straub Cancer Center team includes board certified physicians, nurses, registered dietitians, outpatient and inpatient staff, and a quality of life professional. In addition to treatment and therapy, the Center offers family education and support group sessions to help patients and their families cope with illness.
As the Nurse Practitioner, you will provide direct patient care including evaluation, treatment, and technical procedures to a specific group of patients in the assigned unit. You will be responsible for direct care and treatment of patients, health education, referrals to other disciplines, and consultation with colleagues and other allied health personnel.

Minimum Qualifications: Must meet education requirements for Hawai‘i state licensing. Current Hawai‘i RN License. Current Hawai‘i APRN license or Nurse Practitioner certification in area of specialty. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) card. Two (2) years of nursing experience in Oncology.
Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year advanced practical experience. Teaching and/or public speaking experience.

Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.
Starting Hourly Rate: 64.22
