The Worker’s Compensation department provides the organization with resources to reduce occupational injuries, illnesses and fatigue, and to improve the quality of work life for our employees. The department’s services include developing guidelines for reporting of illness or injury, reporting when appropriate to the correct agencies, determining when to award benefits, coordinating benefits and making necessary pay adjustments, and ongoing monitoring and reporting to protect the health and safety of our employees at all times.

If you are detail-oriented and gifted with claims management, you can help to uphold our high standard of administrative and financial excellence in the area of Worker’s Compensation. As the Claims Adjuster, you will provide claims management and administration for all workers compensation claims. This includes ensuring compliance with Hawai‘i Pacific Health self-insured/self-administered claims program and state regulations; working closely with Worker’s Compensation staff to investigate, evaluate and settle claims; and assisting with educational activities and consultation on risk prevention issues. We are looking for someone driven and meticulous, with excellent organizational and communication skills, an appreciation for fiscal management and accounting protocol and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai‘i.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Occupational Safety, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Five (5) years worker’s compensation experience managing moderate to complex claims, including compensability, subrogation, and fraud. Litigation management experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Limited License - Workers’ Compensation Adjuster.
