Job Description

Kapi'olani Medical Specialists (KMS) is a specialty physician group dedicated to caring for Hawai'i's women and children through excellence in academics, physician training, medical research and clinical care. The group is comprised of over 100 Specialists, Nurse Practitioners and other staff, covering newborn to women's health services at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children. KMS operates exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, offering highly specialized care options at Kapi'olani and building support for these services within Hawai'i as a whole. The group’s specialty areas include: Neurology, Orthopedics,Genetics, Adolescent Medicine, Otolaryngology, Behavioral Health Services, Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive Care, Family Medicine and the full spectrum of Pediatric Specialties. Its Women's specialists include Breast and General Surgery, Adult Hospitalists and GYN Oncology.

In the Otolaryngology department, our board-certified physicians specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and surgery of the ear, nose, throat and related structures of the head and neck. This team of professionals oversees patients with loss of hearing or balance; sinus troubles; injuries to the ears, nose or throat; cancer and tumors of the head and neck; infections and deformities of the ear, nose, throat or neck; and foreign bodies in the upper respiratory tract.

You could gain valuable first-hand clinical operations and health care experience as a Clinic Assistant. In this role you would perform routine tasks ranging from monitoring supplies to administering health care to patients of all ages to supporting departmental staff. Under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Federal Vaccination Mandate, all heath care workers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious exemption from receiving the COVID-19 vaccination.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.

Preferred Qualifications: Basic Medical Terminology. Completion of medical assistant program and/or equivalent experience. One (1) year back office medical assistant experience in an outpatient clinic, physician’s office, or related experience. Experience with Epic

Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.
