Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Our Sterile Services department provides full support throughout the medical facility with centralized processing and maintenance of medical/surgical supplies and equipment. Professional care services include cleaning, storing and issuance of both sterile and non-sterile devices, equipment and supplies.
The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the instrumentation ordering and repairs for the Perioperative Services department. You will assess, plan, order, negotiate, coordinate, and facilitate all instrumentation that includes capital, specialty, trauma, and consignment instrumentation with financial accountabilities. You are accountable for ensuring professional development, as well as coordinating the research, evaluation, and in-servicing staff on instrumentation. Accountable for the instrumentation administration portion of the instrument tracking system.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Certification in sterile processing or surgical technology. Three (3) years of demonstrated progressive responsibilities that include specialty instrumentation, devices, equipment and instrument tracking systems.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced certifications in sterile processing. Five (5) years of demonstrated progressive responsibilities that include specialty instrumentation, devices, equipment and instrument tracking systems.
