Our coding professionals are committed to the management of coded health care information in order to maintain the most accurate reimbursement, tracking and reporting for the organization’s medical and billing records. Activities include the processing of billing codes for professional medical services and communication with physicians and Revenue Management staff to ensure that the transfer of information is accurate and secure and in compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations.

As the Coding Educator, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating coding quality education for the department, and ancillary and administrative staff. You will educate physicians on documentation improvement; serve as the primary resource for coding updates; coordinate and perform quality review of the coding processes; and provide coding support for all facilities when needed. We are looking for someone dynamic and systematic, with excellent organizational and communication skills and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai‘i.

Minimum Qualifications: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist - Physicians (CCS-P). Five (5) years medical coding experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Registered Health Information Administrator, Accredited Health Information Technician certification, Certified Professional Coder - Risk Adjustment (CRC) or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS). Previous training experience.
