Hawaii Pacific Health File Clerk - Health Information Services in Honolulu, Hawaii
Founded in 1921, Straub Clinic & Hospital is a fully integrated nonprofit health care system with a 159-bed tertiary care hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai‘i. With more than 300 employed or contracted physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with expert diagnoses and treatments for more than 30 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, women’s health, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multi-disciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai‘i, such as pioneering minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement. In 2010, the American Heart Association recognized Straub in three areas of excellence: Coronary Artery Disease (Gold Award), Heart Failure (Silver Award) and Heart Attack (Bronze Award).
Health Information Services (HIS) processes patient medical records and releases health information to patients, physicians, and other outside facilities for treatment, payment, or review. HIS is the custodian and gatekeeper for privacy of the organization’s medical records and also generates the coding procedures for data collection, research, and reimbursement. With the widespread computerization of health records and other information sources, including hospital administration functions and health human resources information, health informatics and health information technology are being increasingly used in the health care sector.
If you are detail-oriented, meticulous and self-directed, you could be the ideal candidate for our File Clerk position, where you will form an integral part of the administrative and operational activities of Straub’s HIS and perform day-to-day clerical duties to support the department. We are looking for someone with excellent organizational and communication skills, willingness to work with others in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and a commitment to our vision of delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.
