Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

The Security team provides security, information, directions and escort service to patients and staff as needed, while adhering to policies and regulations regarding safety. As Security Officers patrol Hawai‘i Pacific Health facilities, they are often the first to meet and greet our clients, which positions the community’s experience at our facility in a positive way. The Security team plays a vital role in creating a sense of safety and security throughout our hospitals, which is important to our patients and their families.

As the Security Manager, you will help to ensure that Straub Clinic & Hospital facilities offer a safe and secure environment for our patients, guests and employees. You will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing security services and security management programs. You will act as a liaison with Federal, State, County, and community agencies with respect to security programs and activities. We are looking for someone with outstanding customer service and operational skills and a commitment to our vision of delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, safety, security or health related field and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid Hawaii Driver's License. Current Hawaii Security Guard Registration (GDE) License. Current American Heart Association Heart Saver – AED CPR card. Three (3) years experience in supervisory level or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications: International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Health Care Security Officer Training Certificate. IAHSS Safety and Security Supervisor Training Certificate. Three (3) years experience in a supervisory level position within Safety and Security.

Hawai‘i Pacific Health offers a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that includes pay and benefits. The pay rate, if displayed, is the minimum hourly rate for the position. Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.
