Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

The Straub Doctors On Call program provides quality health care in Waikiki to both residents and visitors. We offer a broad range of non-emergency medical care at two locations in Waikiki: the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Sheraton Princess Ka‘iulani Hotel, including 24-hour physician services, laboratory and X-ray imaging. In addition, Doctors On Call offers a full spectrum of occupational health services such as physical examinations, drug tests, worker's compensation care and immunizations. Our physicians are assisted by a full staff of nurses, accredited technicians and patient service representatives who are fluent in Japanese and English.

As a Medical Assistant in our Straub Doctors On Call program, you will form part of the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide caring, thorough health services to our patients and their families. In this role, you will serve as a primary assistant to the physician and perform a wide variety of patient care activities to clients of all ages at the urgent care clinics. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.

Preferred Qualifications: Six (6) months medical assistant experience. Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) and/or International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) Coding. Experience with electronic medical records.
