Job Description

The Emergency Room department at Straub Medical Center includes 13 treatment areas that attend to approximately 60 to 80 patients per day, for issues ranging from cardiac or surgical care to acute injuries. Patients can go to any emergency room in Hawai‘i, but many chose Straub for its service excellence and longstanding commitment to providing the best quality care. The independent national hospital rating service HealthGrades.com has rated Straub as #1 in the treatment of stroke, heart attack, angioplasty, heart by-pass surgery and respiratory infection.
As the Physician Assistant in our Emergency Room, you will gain invaluable experience and insight as part of our professional physician team while performing a variety of patient care activities related to the diagnosis and treatment of ill and injured patients. We are looking for someone motivated and driven, with outstanding patient care and communication skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai‘i.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Physician Assistant license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. One (1) year Physician Assistant experience in an Emergency Room (ER) or successful completion of an ER training program.
