Hawaii Pacific Health Physician - Child Protection Specialist in Honolulu, Hawaii

Job Description

The Hawai‘i Pacific Health Medical Group is comprised of over 700 employed physicians and advanced practice providers. Together with our four medical centers (Kapi‘olani, Pali Momi, Straub, and Wilcox) and more than 50 convenient clinic locations statewide, our nonprofit health system is one of the state’s largest health care providers. Our network of physicians and specialists work together to provide a distinctive and effective model of coordinated care for maintaining the health and wellness of our patients.

Hawai‘i Pacific Health Medical Group is seeking a board certified/eligible Child Abuse Pediatrician or physician with at least 5 years of extensive experience in child abuse to help with the ongoing development of a hospital-based child abuse program. Outstanding collaborative skills and a strong interest in multidisciplinary work and community outreach are essential. Located in Honolulu, we are the only Children’s Hospital in the state and receive consultations from military and community hospitals on neighbor Hawaiian islands and the Pacific region. We have outstanding working relationships with the Departments of Health and Human Services as well as key child health legislators.

This is an exciting opportunity for either a mid-career physician seeking to further develop a well-funded and established program or a younger Child Abuse Pediatrician eager to work in the most ethnically diverse State with other desirable attributes. Academic appointment commensurate with rank is at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawai‘i with medical student and resident education an important component of the position. Excellent salary and benefits. Research opportunities exist but are not central to the position.
