Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center is a fully integrated nonprofit health care system with a 159-bed tertiary care hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai‘i. The Medical Surgical department provides competent and safe care to patients admitted for acute nursing interventions of 24 hours or more within surgical/medical and oncology services. Our highly trained and professional staff treats people recovering from serious illness, orthopedic problems and major surgery. Medication and treatments are provided in a warm and caring environment that facilitates patient recovery.
As the Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to provide professional and compassionate nursing services to the Straub community through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care in our Medical Surgical department. You will also function as an associate to a charge nurse and begin to assume charge nurse responsibilities with time. We are looking for someone with excellent patient care and communication skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in a Medical/Surgical Unit.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards. Two (2) years of recent Registered Nurse experience in Medical/Surgical.
