Kapi‘olani's Audiology department is composed of a multidisciplinary team of expertly trained professionals dedicated to providing audiology services and consultation for inpatients and outpatients at our central location and contract sites. The department includes the Cochlear Implant Team, which was formed in 2005 to provide critical services so that children can enter the world of sound without having to leave Hawai‘i for specialized treatment. In addition to an ear, nose and throat specialist, the team includes an audiologist, a speech/language pathologist, a clinical psychologist, a social worker, a physical and occupational therapist and, depending on the patient’s age, a school liaison.
If you are a caring and nurturing health care provider and would enjoy the opportunity to detect and heal potential problems for newborn children, you could do so as the Rehab Screening Technician in the Audiology and Rehabilitation Services department.
