Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 243 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,500 employees and more than 630 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The Respiratory Therapy team partners with health care professionals across the continuum of care to provide quality therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care for our patients with acute or chronic cardiopulmonary disorders. Our certified respiratory therapists are specialized in both cardiac and pulmonary nursing and medicine, and work with patients to improve lung function through exercises, special medications and the use of oxygen equipment. This experienced team incorporates evidence-based practice and state-of-the-art technologies in their practice to improve patient experience while at our hospitals and clinics.
As the Registered Respiratory Therapist II, you will help to provide professional, compassionate respiratory therapy care to patients and their families, including the delivery cardiorespiratory and related services and serving as a technical resource on all aspects of respiratory care. We are looking for someone with great communications and patient care skills, the ability work in collaboratively in a team-oriented atmosphere and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawaii State Respiratory Therapist License. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year respiratory care or related experience.
