Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Medical Staff department provides technical and administrative support to members of the medical staff, hospital leadership and departments with the goal of promoting quality patient care. Services include Medical Staff meeting preparation and follow-up, credentialing, Continuing Medical Education, information management, medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations and guidelines and peer review. The department also serves as a liaison between Medical Staff, the nursing department and Hospital Administration, responding to inquiries from external organizations, prospective appointees, department/service practitioners and hospital departments.

In this role, you will respond to inquiries from external organizations, prospective appointees, department/service practitioners and hospital departments. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in Business Administration, Health Records Technology, or other health related field and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Two (2) years secretarial or administrative experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Medical terminology course. National Medical Staff Coordinator certification. Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist. Health care experience. Credentialing or medical staff experience.
