Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Mother Baby Care Unit offers specialized care for postpartum teen to adult women and normal newborns, as well as to post-GYN surgical women. Our highly trained and caring staff provides education to the entire family during and after the pregnancy, as well as IV therapy, fetal monitoring, diabetes education, monitoring of patients requiring bed rest for premature delivery, post-surgical C-section, regular deliveries and postpartum complications and a variety of other services. The Mother Baby Care Unit provides support to mothers and their newborns in an atmosphere that promotes bonding of the family unit.

If you have exceptional organizational and people management skills, you could be the ideal person for our Clinical Services Supervisor position, where you will manage staff, oversee daily operations and ensure quality patient care at Kapi‘olani’s Mother Baby Care Unit. We are looking for someone with demonstrated interpersonal and leadership talent, the ability to create a collaborative work environment, and a commitment to helping us deliver the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Three (3) years recent acute care registered nurse experience in postpartum and/or Mother Baby Care Unit. One (1) year recent registered charge nurse or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or related field. Current national certification in Neonatal Care. More than three (3) years recent registered nurse experience in Neonatal Intensive Care. Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification CPR cards.

Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.
