Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

Join the Telecommunications department and support our mission to provide high quality health care to patients by facilitating an accurate telephone switchboard service and friendly customer service. This department assists external and internal customers by directing phone calls to the appropriate departments and services. The Telecommunications team also assists with the coordination of emergency responses following established protocols to assure hospital security regulations.

As the Telephone Operator, you will help to ensure the maintenance of efficient and helpful communications service to the employees and clients of Straub. You will serve as a professional customer service bridge between internal and external customers through the use of telecommunication systems and processes. We are looking for someone with excellent communications and customer service skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year experience or previous telecommunications training. Experience using medical terminology.

Hawai‘i Pacific Health offers a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that includes pay and benefits. The pay rate, if displayed, is the minimum hourly rate for the position. Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.

Starting Hourly Rate: 22.37
