Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital dedicated to providing the Kaua'i community with accessible, quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua'i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 20-bed emergency department is the first neighbor island facility to obtain a Level III Trauma designation and serves as the island’s Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. At Wilcox Memorial Hospital the Quality Management team strengthens the organization by promoting a data-driven approach to systematic quality and improvement. The team maintains accreditation status with The Joint Commission and with Federal and State regulating agencies. It supports the mission of the organization by ensuring that appropriate quality tools are used to measure and facilitate performance improvements, and promoting a culture of safety. Among other services, the department staff participates in national quality programs to ensure the monitoring of quality performance and evaluate how standards are being met.
If you are highly organized and detail-oriented, you could oversee performance improvement initiatives and programs, as well as develop and maintain a quality control and quality assurance program for newborn hearing screens and for all areas performing point of care testing. As the Point of Care Testing & Quality Coordinator, you would serve as a system resource, coordinating organizational efforts to prepare for Joint Commission and reviews by other accrediting agencies, ensuring compliance to all regulatory requirements and standards. We are looking for someone with exceptional organizational and communication skills, attention to detail and protocol and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai‘i.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse (RN) License. Bachelor’s degree in Physical, Mechanical, or Life Sciences. Three (3) years clinical experience in hospital or healthcare related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree.
